We are working with Nebraska Health and Human Services to update our extended day program. All students PK-8th grade may attend our extended day program due to changes in interpretation of regulations and licensing. We will offer an after school enrichment/study club for 6th through 8th grades. Currently, staff members are developing the mission, goals, and procedures for the program.
We work hard for kids to have fun. We have structured play we call stations. We have 8 stations right now. One of them includes going outside but not all children get outside in one visit. Due to staffing reasons I cannot have all the kids outside at the same time. Starting this year, we will have what we call a "Wed-mess-day" where we create something that is fun and stimulating and probably very messy. Even on rainy and cold days, all students go to the gym so they can have playtime. There is a "Homework Room" with a teacher for 5th through 8th graders, it is to give the kids a quiet environment to do their homework with a teacher there to help answers any questions they may have. Parents can come and pick their kids up at any time during extended day.
Pre-K and Extended Day Program students must be immunized as required by the State. Parents must submit a signed immunizations form to Extended Day and the school office. The State requires Extended Day keep its own copy of immunizations. Click here: Pricing Information
St. Mary’s offers an Extended Day Program for our student from 6:30-8 am and 3:20–6:00 pm. This program is designed for families that need continuous before/after childcare. A family must have a completed registration form on file before their student can attend Extended Day.
When school is in session for a scheduled half day, Extended Day will only be open in the mornings. When school is not in session, the Extended Day program is not open. When school is closed early due to weather or other emergencies, your child must be picked up as soon as possible. On Snow days there is no Extended Day.
